Yesterday Danielle and I travelled to Vancouver B.C. to shoot Cheryl and Andrews wedding this coming Saturday. We decided to come a couple days early to get a mini vacation….but to start the mini vacation off we had some highly anti-vacation like experiences trying to get here….
Heres the list:
#1:
Two days before we left we were welcomed back home late one night after a wedding to a plugged toilet….to tired to deal with it we just hit the bed and slept though the night…the toilet did otherwise. It flooded all night and we woke up to a mini-swimming pool in our room…and bathroom….annd…..hallway….a..n..d……garage……We called the Service Master people and they came right away and took care of it by leaving these awesomely huge de-humidifiers in all of our rooms….these things are seriously awesome…they put out a perfect “white noise” fan sound (great for sleeping) and dry up every single water drop in sight…you can step out of he shower, do a 360 turn in front of the machine and then be 100% dry
#2:
Service Master ultra clean up team was fixing the dry wall (which was now wet) in the garage and as they were cutting the wall they accidentally cut the main house sewage line….
……
……
…fun
…….
They quickly called a plumber, who showed up an hour later, forgot his supplies, had a butt crack….awesome.
He fixed it.
An hour later.
….an hour after that we left for Vancouver
#3:
While in Vancouver, got rear ended by non-English speaking resident. Awesome.
#4:
Hasn’t happened yet, but im sure something will, check back for an update.
Other than those things everything has been great. Vancouver is AWESOME and the people here are extremely nice. Canadians ROCK!
Today we went on a hike up Grouse Mountain with the cool kats from StillMotion. The car accident caused us to be an hour late getting started on the hike, but we still made it up to the top of the mountain and got to have a nice dinner with them. Very cool place and very worth going back. The view is amazing. The hike is killer but in a good way.
Here are some photos from the hike up and then some more photos from the top and also the very cool gondolas that they have up there. I will post some more photos tomorrow once I get them edited.
We are heading to the wedding location tomorrow to check everything out, I might post some photos from that as well. Danielle and I are very excited for Cheryl and Andrews wedding! they got a very special and unique package and we cant wait to shoot their wedding.
Despite all the bumps in the road getting here we would have to say thats its very worth it. Vancouver is beautiful, Cheryl and Andrew are awesome, and were stoaked to shoot their wedding

A look up at the start of the hike.

Sunlight coming through the branches

Your basic forest….

Peeking through the trees to see if we could see the view.

The food here is soooo soo good, free range and organic, ahhh niiice.

Check out these awesome Gondolas! the fit 100 people, crazy! We rode it down to the bottom when we were done eating.

I was finally able to take a few minutes to blog these photos while I was waiting for a drive to be backed up. Here it is…for all of you that are asking! Day 1 was a travel day, so I didn’t take any photos. Here is the recap on what happened on day 1. Grandma, Hannah and I hopped onto a plane from Ireland to meet my mom, dad, sister and Casey in bordeaux. After a 24 hour flight delay (yes really 24 hours!) and some miscommunication we didn’t meet up for several hours. After sitting for several hours in the airport, Grandma Hannah and I were getting restless and after several hours of searching for us, mom, dad, julia and casey were tired and irritated. But we finally met up. We then had a 2 hour drive to Ville Nueve which after realizing that our directions only got us half of the way there, we ended up getting lost. Car 1 held, hannah, my dad and I and Car 2 held Mom, Casey, Julia and Grandma. We somehow got split up and for more than 2 hours we wondered whether the other car had made it to the destination. Car 1 had the only Map and Car 2 had the only working cell phone. Finally after more than 2 hours of being split up, at a dark roundabout in the middle of nowhere, we waited as another car was going really, really slow. As the car came around we realized that it was Car 2! There was screaming and joy! How, in all of france did we end up at the same roundabout at the same time, when we had taken two totally different routes to get there? WHEW! Anyway so after coming in at around 4 am and Mom, Dad, Casey and Julia had been up for like 48 hours we decided to take a slow day on day 2. In the afternoon we travelled to a castle nearby where we were staying. Here it is! I can’t remember the name…so maybe someone can help me out. The castle was beautiful and it would be amazing to get married there…or atleast do a shoot there! We also met a british photographer there who let casey borrow his wide angle lense! Thanks!

Day 5-10 held a lot of interesting locations! On Day 5 we went to the Dublin Zoo. I don’t really know what prompted hannah and I to want to spend a day there but it sounded like fun and it was surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens. Here is a photo of Hannah and Grandma as well as some monkeys!
Day 6 we went to this Castle and it poured! We also went to the Waterford Crystal factory.
Hannah & I in front of the Castle (gma went back to the bus)
The landscape seen from the train on the way back
Day 7 we went to the Guinness factory/museum. It was really interesting to see how the beer was made and how it became part of Ireland’s culture, employing a ton of locals. They even have their own hospital!
Day 8 we went to Dublin castle. This castle is very close to Dublin Bar where we stayed. Hannah and I walked there one of the first nights and the light was so beautiful on the castle walls. Unfortunately I didn’t bring my camera…..so I guess that will just have to be kept in my memory. Dublin castle is used for the show Tudors! So cool!
Everything is very ornate and I kept thinking of Casey the whole time. I knew he would die when he saw the pictures!
I loved Ireland! I would love to go again and see some other locations as well as go back to some of my favorites! Next up! All the france pictures!!! I think they will have to be split up into several posts!

There are so many favorites from my trip to Ireland I couldn’t figure which ones to blog. Day 4 we went to the Blarney castle where we waited in line for a couple of hours to kiss the blarney stone. Then we headed off to the coast by Cork which was my favorite place of the entire trip! We also went to the grave sites of the Lusitania. Man…the clouds in Ireland are amazing. I just love how the light hits them and then reflects off the water!

Casey and I are back from Ireland/SouthernFrance/Paris and we are back to work. We are still on Paris time, we have been getting up at 6:30 am…and if you know us…we are not morning people!
We came home to a bunch of albums and products (our fav!) and we will be mailing all of those out asap as well as all cds and print orders! I want to get all caught up so I wont be taking too much time to blog this week unless I get some spare time while pictures are loading or something. But here is one photo to hold you all over. It was taken from inside the Louvre.

We are now finally in France! We don’t have any internet or phone service at our house. If you have any inquiry, feel free to send an email! We will get back to you asap and if we aren’t able to get onto the internet while we are here, we will be returning all emails and voicemails when we return on July 8th!
Thanks!

This is day 3 continued: We took a rail tour to the Cliffs of Mohr, Gallway Bay & Bunratty Castle. It was awfully rainy and gloomy! I forgot my rain coat and i bought an umbrella at the Castle. Still, I struggled to keep my camera dry and had to hold the umbrella in one hand and camera in the other. We were freezing. Even though it was so cold and rainy we had a great time looking at the scenery and hearing about the history of the region. Also, just as we were leaving the cliffs the clouds parted and the sun came out. Unfortunately I was way to wet to enjoy the sun, although we did get to see Gallway bay when it was sunny so that was nice. -d
Gallway bay from the window of the bus.
Another stop we made past Gallway that has marine rocks exposed with fossils in them.
