Little Gems

Sometimes when I look back through a wedding when creating an album new images pop out at me as special. I have been working on Heather & Chris’ album and this image just speaks to me. I know that it is not technically perfect, but it reminds me of their wedding day and the love and warmth there was.

Katie & Joe|| Wedding SDE

I wanted to share Katie & Joe’s wedding SDE while we are away at WPPI. . Katie & Joe’s wedding was absolutely amazing! Katie & Joe are awesome people. They are a blast to work with and trust us to create beautiful images for them. Plus you can totally see the love they have for each other. One of my favorite parts of the wedding was Joe’s reaction to Katie walking towards him during the First Look. We did some photos at the Golf Course but when the opportunity arose to go offsite and shoot at a dock we were all for it. What we didn’t know was that we were going to end up having Katie & Joe walk into a bunch of twigs for the shoot. Even though it was a bit tricky, I am really happy with how the images turned out! As Katie’s sister kelsey said, the site was “epic.” And that is how I feel about the SDE. So sit back and enjoy the video we played at their reception.

Because every post is better with an image I thought I would share one image from the day! Also, once we return from WPPI I am going to do a write up about doing both CINEMA and PHOTO at one wedding.

We have already completed our first wedding of the year last Saturday and we are starting full force this weekend with a double photo/video SDE extravaganza. I am so happy with the clients we have and I am excited to meet many more. I thought I would share one image from a recent engagement session that I am currently working on. Full post to come soon! Marissa & Dean || Wedding

Marissa & Dean are awesome. They are creative and own their own business, so they completely mesh with us! It was a blast being at their wedding, we felt more like guests than photographers. Casey and I both kept saying to each other at the wedding how much M&D are in love and while editing the photos it was even more apparent. The subtle kisses on the cheek, the whispers, the smile at each other when they think no one else is watching, their hugs are just some of the things that show their love. Their wedding took place at the Fox Island Yacht Club. Daniella from Bella Signature design did an AMAZING job, creating the beautiful ambiance for their day. And the Food was so great as well, I don’t think I have ever been this full at a wedding!! It was oh so yummy! We can thank Ravishing Radish for my full and happy tummy that day! I would definitely recommend both of these fabulous vendors!! M&D, we hope you love the photos and we can’t wait to show you the rest!

Nikole & James || Wedding at the Canal

James & Nikole’s wedding was a blast. They were so relaxed and their family was a dream to work with. Their moms were in tears the whole day and you could just feel the love that everyone had for James and Nikole not to mention the love that they have for each other. I think they had some of the most heartfelt toasts I have ever heard. James & Nikole also gave us plenty of time to do photos of just them together. We had one hour prior to the ceremony and then after the reception was over we headed down to the beach to do a session while the sun was setting! Perfection! We love that! J&N-can’t wait to see you tomorrow and show you the rest of the photos! 🙂

Joanna & Teddy|| Post Wedding Shoot
December 4, 2008, 5:31 pm
Filed under: Seattle Weddings

You may remember Joanna & Teddy’s wedding from the SDE we posted a while back. The day of the wedding the weather decided to not play its part and be sunny, it decided to RAIN rain and RAIN. Danielle and I have lived in Seattle for about three years now and we used to joke about how everyone said it rained alot…..we NOW understand that they weren’t kidding around. It rained so hard that the humidity fogged up all of our camera lenses and we had to continually wipe them throughout the ceremony….perfect for catching the kiss huh..

Although the weather was dismal, Joanna and Teddys’ smiles, love, and excitement shined through the rain. And their spirit lifted us up as well, and we were able to capture all the excitement from everyone on the wedding day and give them a surprise SDE.

After the wedding Joanna and Teddy thought it would be an awesome idea to do a day after shoot when the weather was actually participating in helping us out! We went back to the woodmark hotel and shot photos out of the docks, and some other places around the area. We also found this cool dock that was semi-hidden behind the side of the park area. Since there was no clear way to get tho the dock we just decided to climb our way through the trees….not knowing that on nearly every branch were huge spiders…FUN! But nonetheless we made it there and back! and got some photos on the semi-secret-dock.

Here are some photos from the shoot:

Ashley & Evan || Wedding at Rosario

Ashley & Evan are rockstars! I love their style and they totally rocked it out on their wedding day. We had a ton of time do do all the getting ready photos as well as the posed photos of the bridal parties and we were able to get some fun and unique photos that really showed off Rosario. The ceremony was beautiful and everyone was in tears, I love how they had their brother in law officiate and it made the wedding so much more special. Overall the wedding was really relaxed and all the guests had a great time at this destination wedding! Warning: LONG post! There were so many good ones I didn’t know how to choose! -Danielle 001_aewed012

Heather & Chris || Wedding
November 4, 2008, 1:59 pm
Filed under: Seattle Weddings

Heather & Chris were married in Yakima, Wa on August 30th. Heather and Chris were so relaxed the entire day. It was a day filled with love, tears (I think everyone was crying during their ceremony) and joy for these two. It was also windy and cold, but the light was gorgeous and Heather & Chris were more than happy to do photos wherever we asked them too (even if some of them were in a drainage ditch). Heather & Chris are caring, quiet, considerate, fun, great dancers, and just a delight to be around. Thank you H&C for being so great to us! We can’t wait for you to see all the photos!

Nathan + Jenna || Sunny Sunday SDE || Oct 26th, 2008
October 28, 2008, 6:43 pm
Filed under: Cinematography, Seattle Weddings

This weekend the sun came out, the cold weather cleared up and all the fall colors came out in their full glory! On Sunday, Danielle and I headed out to Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish, WA to film Nathan and Jenna’s wedding! Turned out to be an awesome day with a ton of love and emotion.

It felt like we were with friends and family rather than a vendor. Nathan, Jenna and both their families are truly special. Thanks to everyone who was there and I hope you all enjoyed the SDE.

Be sure to check the larger higher quality & HD version HERE.

Also, it was great working with Kate McElwee who did all the still photography at the wedding. You can catch glimpses of her rocking it in the video, cant wait to see the photos. You can look at some photos from Nathan and Jenna’s engagement shoot on her BLOG. She was incredibly relaxed and easy to very work with, totally rockstar as well!!
